I especially love the quilting on the neck! Perfect for the player and collector alike. It plays and sounds amazing, and the design is killer. Comments: This is a brilliant example of the TB-4.For example, the serial number 90237XXX corresponds to a production date of 1/23/97. The first number of the sequence indicates the decade of production, followed by the three digit day of the year, and finally the year. This banjo is ready to be professionally packed and shipped. Starting in 1977, Gibson adopted the current date-based serial system which codes for the year and day of production. Action measures just over 4/64ths on the first string and 6/64ths on the 4th string (at 12th fret). The neck is nice and straight and the fretboard is in excellent condition. It shows light wear from normal use such as light surface scratches, a few small dings, some finish checking, a bit of discoloration on the head, and light patina on some metal parts. Condition: This vintage banjo is in great shape! For an instrument from the early 20th century, it's a fantastic example of the TB-4. ![]() Features: 2 on a plate open gear tuners, 17 frets, dot inlays, arm-rest, Grover bridge.
